Group Classes

Family Manners: The dog that has never been to a training class will benefit greatly with this class. Goals are to create polite manners such as sit, down, stay and beginning to walk on a leash.

Loose Leash Walking: Dogs who need to learn to heel or to brush up on their leash manners will learn a lot in this class. You will learn many safe and dog-friendly techniques to enjoy walking your dog with pleasure, rather than it being a chore.

Agility Skills I:  Geared toward the inexperienced dog and handler, this is a fun class. Basic manners around other dogs will be taught, as agility is introduced with obstacles including jumps, tunnels and contacts.

Agility Skills II: Building on previously learned skills in Agility I, this class is a lot of fun and includes more jumps and longer obstacles.

No Jumping: During two one-hour sessions we will perfect polite greetings at doors as well as out in public. Situations will be set up to stop frustrating jumping behavior and out-of-control barking at the sound of the ringing doorbell.

The Nose Knows: This new and exciting detective-style sport is designed to develop a dog’s natural abilities by using their curiosity and desire to hunt. They have fun and build confidence while they burn a lot of mental and physical energy.

Tricks: Dogs with basic manners and a desire to impress enjoy learning tricks in this class. Pets will learn how to roll over, high five, take a bow, crawl, put their toys away, fetch and even say their prayers. Play with us as you unleash your dog’s creative side.

Rally Obedience: Continue to advance your dog’s obedience skills as you learn the basics of rally. Rally is an interactive dog sport which combines skills learned for basic competition and obedience exercises. You and your dog move from station to station as they complete various exercises.

Puppy Skills I: Young puppies from 9 to 16 weeks will have fun as they learn in this skills class.

Puppy Skills II: After completion of Puppy Skills I or other foundation skills, puppies learn to refine and practice working with distractions.

Certification Classes

Canine Good Citizen Prep: This class will teach The American Kennel Club’s 10 CGC test components each week. The CGC test will be given shortly after the sixth class.

Therapy Dog Certification: Being a Certified Therapy Dog allows your canine to work as a therapy dog. Working with distractions, such as loud noises, being around unfamiliar objects, and politely greeting people are just a few of the components of this class.

Day Training

Daycare is combined with one-on-one training sessions between your dog and our trainer. Typical Day Training packages include two or three training sessions each day, for a total training time of one hour a day.

Day Training Packages

Jump Start: You and your dog get started on four specific behaviors. This is the perfect package choice when you need a little help motivating your dog in the right direction.

Continuing Education: Your pet’s day training can continue after completing Jump Start. This package allows your dog to begin training on new behaviors or to improve on already-introduced behaviors by consistently performing those behaviors with greater distractions, duration and distance.

Both packages include:

  • 1 private 45-minute lesson with you and your dog before the one-on-one sessions begin
  • eight 30-minute one-on-one training sessions with your dog
  • four take-home lessons
  • one private lesson for you and your dog after the one-on-one sessions.

Custom: We may be able to customize a program to accommodate you and your dog’s needs in day training. Please contact our trainer to find the perfect fit for your family.

Private Lessons

Private lessons are offered at Bayside Bed & Biscuit or at your home. You and your pet will learn a variety of basic obedience skills as specific behavioral issues are changed, such as barking, chewing, and jumping.

Board and Train

Our trainer will spend one-on-one time to teach important basic skills while your dog is enjoying a comfortable two-week stay at Bayside Bed & Biscuit. Sessions will focus on these basic skills, which all good canine citizens should know, such as polite greeting, manners and walking on a loose leash.
